It runs on the honour system — no account and no feature locked either way; the licence comes with a key whose only effect is to remove the export watermark.

More importantly, nothing you draw depends on us being here: diagrams are stored in your browser and saved as plain JSON files on your own disk, never on our servers, and they export to PNG, SVG, PDF, Visio VSDX, CSV and Excel — formats other tools already read. There is no account to be locked out of, so a diagram made today stays openable whatever happens to the publisher.
